The trip we made to North India for free in 24 days led us to know one of the most fascinating countries that exist.
We do not fool anyone when we say that the famous phrase "India or you love or hate it" is totally true, although we want to add the nuance that it is possible to have both feelings on the same trip or at least that is what we It happened to us.
Our trip began in Delhi, where we arrived on a flight from Barcelona, with a stopover in Zurich, since we were flying with Swiss Air.
We spent the first day in Delhi, knowing a good part of the city and the most tourist places to start the route the next day, starting with Mandawa, Karni Mata or Temple of the Rats, Bikaner, Jaisalmer, where we spent a couple of days enjoying one of the most beautiful cities in North India.
From Jaisalmer we started returning to the east of the country to reach Jodhpur, stopping before in Osiyan.
After spending a day and a half in the "blue city", we continue the route to Jaipur, stopping in places as well known as Abhaneri and Fathepur Sikri to arrive in Agra in the afternoon, from where we will have the great honor of being able to see an incredible sunset over the Taj Mahal on the banks of the Yamuna River.
The next day we will continue in Agra, to be able to visit the Taj Mahal first thing in the morning and in the afternoon follow the route to Gwalior.
We will continue the journey through Orchha, Khajuraho to catch a night train from here that will take us to the City of Life and Death: Varanasi.
Here we spend the last days of the trip before returning to Delhi, which is our last stop on the trip.
The best time to travel to India is undoubtedly spring or autumn. If you can avoid the summer, since they are the hottest months and we can assure you that the heat is felt there and much.
The high season is from December to March and although you will find better weather, prices are usually somewhat more expensive.
It is advisable to avoid the monsoon season that goes from July to September.
